Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet at least one of the following: 1. At least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (minimum of 60 credit hours) 2. An associate degree (or higher) 3. Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment: a. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or b. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics as appropriate. 4. Passing scores of the
MTTC:
a. Basic Skills; or b. Professional Readiness 5. Passing ETS Parapro assessment with passing score of 460 6. Passing WorkKeys test
NATURE OF THE POSITION
This is a federally funded position and is contingent upon the continuation of grant funding. This position is responsible for providing aid to instructional staff in meeting the objectives of the instructional program.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring. Provide instructional support services under the supervision of teacher. Provide monitoring services during testing sessions. Assist with the Title 1 program: complete necessary paperwork for the Title 1 program. Prepare the classroom for subsequent instruction. Supervise pupils in learning center activities: computer lab, library, or media, etc. Read to children, listen to children read, explain assignments to children, etc. Respond to all levels of supervision.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires frequent standing and walking throughout building and school grounds. Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel and bend occasionally. Occasionally lifts and carries materials or items weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to use senses - sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Ability to type; uses hand/eye coordination for typing and data entry.

Satisfactory criminal background check.
