Toddler Teacher Montessori Children's Center Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00
PM Position:
Full-Time Position Summary Montessori Children's Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our team. The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate classroom where toddlers can build independence, explore their environment, develop social skills, and grow in confidence. The ideal candidate understands that toddlers are learning through hands-on experiences and everyday interactions. This position requires patience, consistency, strong communication, and a genuine desire to support each child's individual development. Essential Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to toddlers throughout the day. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Follow all Michigan childcare licensing requirements, center policies, and health and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate classroom ratios and complete required name-to-face attendance checks and supervision procedures. Encourage growing independence with toileting, handwashing, dressing, eating, cleaning up, and other self-help skills. Support children as they learn to make appropriate choices and participate in classroom routines. Provide developmentally appropriate opportunities for movement, exploration, practical life, sensory experiences, language development, art, music, and creative expression. Encourage positive social interactions, emotional regulation, problem-solving, sharing, turn-taking, and respectful communication. Support children in identifying and appropriately expressing their emotions. Observe and document children's development, behaviors, interests, and milestones. Use observations to individualize learning experiences and respond to each child's developmental needs. Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance, daily reports, diapering/toileting, meals, and rest documentation. Communicate professionally and consistently with families regarding their child's day, development, progress, and individual needs. Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom, including regularly sanitizing toys, tables, chairs, shelves, and eating and toileting areas. Support safe and consistent rest-time procedures. Participate in classroom routines, transitions, cleaning, and preparation throughout the day. Work collaboratively with co-teachers, administration, and support staff to maintain a positive and well-run classroom. Attend required staff meetings, professional development, and trainings. Support the mission, values, and philosophy of Montessori Children's Center. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred. CDA, associate degree, or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements for the position. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification. Ability to complete required annual health and safety training. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Dependable, patient, nurturing, and responsive. Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy childcare environment. Commitment to providing children with a safe, loving, and respectful environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and safely carry toddlers and young children. Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat, and move frequently throughout the classroom. Ability to respond quickly to the needs of children. Ability to safely assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, cleaning, transitions, and other routine toddler-care responsibilities.

$13.75 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
