Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a center-based special education program. This full-time role places you at the heart of a dedicated team, working directly with students who benefit from individualized care and instructional support. Your compassion, initiative, and commitment will help foster academic growth, positive behaviors, and valuable life skills among your students.
What You'll Bring:
One of the following requirements: Associate's Degree or higher, at least 60 college credit hours, OR a passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment such as ParaPro Experience in school-based settings, especially as a paraprofessional or educational assistant, is strongly valued Skills supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD), or moderate-severe needs Familiarity with behavior management techniques like PBIS, ABA, or CPI Willingness and ability to assist with daily living activities, including toileting if needed Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group academic and behavioral support within a special education classroom Assist in implementing IEP accommodations and behavior intervention plans Support students with daily living tasks (ADLs), ensuring dignity and safety Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to reinforce a structured, nurturing classroom environment Help maintain accurate records as directed by lead educators This role offers competitive compensation between $42.50 and $45 per hour (pending confirmation), with the assignment running through the current school year and the potential for renewal.
