JOB ANALYSIS
The job of Office Assistant is done for the purpose/s of providing a variety of secretarial/clerical support to a variety of assigned administrators, and school staff; establishing and maintaining department records; coordinating assigned projects; and compiling and distributing a wide variety of materials and reports.
REPORTS TO
Principal or Designee
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(The following are illustrative of the responsibilities associated with this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.) Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures. Ability to communicate with staff, students and parents to relay information in an effective, professional manner. Knowledge of basic office equipment, ability to troubleshoots machinery and coordinate maintenance. Ensures the confidentiality of complex and/or sensitive information, records, contracts, logs, files and related documents. Must work independently and complete tasks with little supervision. Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines in an environment with constant interruptions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent computer programs, Outlook, Google Docs and ability to learn District's software programs. Ability to be multi-tasked and handle unpredictable situations. High level of attention to detail. Knowledge of lockdown procedures, fire drills, emergency backpacks to insure a safe school environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from High School, 2 years of College or equivalent work experience in related position. Experience working with students in school environment desired.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Range of 190-260 days per year depending on position. Refer to the contract between the Londonderry School Board and the Support Staff Union for additional information.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel and Union Agreement.
