POSITION

Long Term Classroom Educational Aide

LOCATION

Holland, Ohio / Springfield Local Schools

DATES ASAP

- End of School Year

PAY RATE

$16.50 Per Hour + $1000 Hiring Bonus

We are currently recruiting for a long-term classroom aide working with students with special needs. Previous work experience with school aged children is preferred. Classroom Educational Aide Qualifications Clean criminal background. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's or Associates Degree (in any field of study) is preferred. (

•Applicants that do not have a bachelor's degree or associate's degree, or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college or University, will be required to pass a paraprofessional test.) Three (3) positive professional references. Experience working with school aged children who have special needs. After Hire (Contingent) Able to obtain an Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license.

Student Support Responsibilities Academic Needs:

Reinforcing previously taught skills

Scribing Organization Note-taking Student Use of Technology:

Chromebook Possible AAC Device Personal Care Needs, Including Hygiene (these are possible needs):

Toileting/Bathroom Feeding Medical Behavioral Needs:

Crisis prevention Structured break support Classroom transition supervision

Staff Support:

Completing assignments according to the classroom teacher's direction Monitor classroom and assist where reasonably expected Supervising social engagements in small group Basic data collection: School Environment Support a safe and respectful environment Effectively communicate with the classroom and other school staff

Details Days:

Monday - Friday, following the school calendar

Duration:

August 13th - End of School Year Enrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS) Employment Incentives available upon employment Christmas Day Paid Thanksgiving Day Paid Calamity Days Paid Paid Time Off (PTO): 5 total days of Paid Time Off (3 days provided at the beginning of employment, 2 added after January 1st) Performance and Attendance Based Incentive Any aide who meets the following criteria is eligible to receive pay for each Monday holiday on the school calendar during their employment. Paid out at the conclusion of the school year.

Eligible holidays:
Labor Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day Attendance Criteria:

No more than 8 total days of absences- 5 PTO and 3

Additional Performance Criteria:

No more than 4 areas of Needs Improvement on Paraprofessional Evaluation
