Job Description
Summary
Wauseon Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Aide to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting the educational development of young learners in a dynamic classroom environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students to facilitate learning and provide assistance to ensure a positive educational experience.
- 4 hours per day/184 days per year (summers off)
- Approximate hours
- 10:45 a.m
- 2:45 p.m.

- Membership in State Employee Retirement System (SERS) retirement Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional activities and educational programs.
- Support students in their academic tasks and help reinforce learning objectives.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
- Help prepare classroom materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as necessary.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
Requirements - High School diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in education or child development preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing classroom needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
- Basic understanding of educational practices and child development principles.
- Must pass background checks as required by school policy.
- Availability to work part-time hours during school days, with flexibility as needed.
- Hold an active Educational Aide Permit through the State Board of Education or ability to obtain one
