Job Description

Special Education Classroom Aide / Paraprofessional (Bench Role - 2026/2027 School Year)
Position Overview:
We are proactively identifying qualified candidates for a bench (pipeline) position to support the 2026/2027 school year. Selected candidates will work with students with special needs, providing both behavioral and academic support while assisting in the implementation of individualized educational programs under the direction of teachers, case managers, and behavior specialists. This role may support students at the Elementary, Middle, or High School level, based on candidate preference and district need.
Schedule:
Full school-day schedule 30-minute unpaid break
Core Responsibilities:
Provide academic and behavioral support to students individually or in small groups Assist in implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans Support students with daily living activities, including feeding, toileting, hygiene, and positioning Monitor student health conditions and ensure a safe environment Assist with behavior management following established guidelines Support physical needs, including lifting, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff Reinforce social skills and student engagement in classroom activities Maintain student records and assist with progress tracking as needed Participate in required trainings and professional development
