Job Description

Step into a dynamic school setting as a Paraprofessional supporting students with severe autism and behavioral needs. Multiple contract roles are available, working with K-8 or high school-age students in a highly structured environment devoted to safety and positive outcomes. This position begins with a mandatory, in-person orientation week, followed by full-time, weekday shifts from 7:30 AM-3:00 PM for the remainder of the school year. Assignment locations may vary, depending on needs, and dedicated professionals can make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Qualifications & Key Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom (PreK-12) working with severe autism and behavioral needs—must appear clearly on resume Residence within a 35-minute commute Commitment to the full work schedule and orientation week Ability to assist with intensive behavioral and safety interventions, including hands-on care (feeding, toileting, transfers) Holds (or willing to complete within 60 days) one of the PA paraprofessional qualifications: 48+ college credits Associate's degree or above Successful completion of the PDE/PaTTAN certification modules Two supervisor references from similar roles Understands full credentialing requirements and necessary clearances
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, daily support to students with severe autism and high-intensity behavioral needs Implement structured behavior plans and safety measures Collaborate with teaching teams and related service providers Maintain a safe, positive, and high-engagement classroom environment Support students' skill development, communication, and daily living tasks
