Work closely alongside experienced teaching assistants while supporting students in kindergarten through third grade with diverse needs, including language differences and autism spectrum disorders.

Key Qualifications:

Previous experience in a school environment strongly preferred Must meet all requirements to work as a paraprofessional according to Rhode Island Department of Education guidelines Comfortable assisting with toileting and diaper changes for students Patient, compassionate, and adaptable to a variety of classroom situations and student needs Able to collaborate effectively with a team of paraprofessionals and educational staff

Role Responsibilities:

Support 11 elementary students with varying disabilities, focusing on both educational and daily living skills Assist classroom teacher in implementing individual educational plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials Rotate duties with six other teaching assistants to provide comprehensive support and maintain a safe, structured environment Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom Participate in classroom routines, including hygiene and personal care tasks for students requiring extra assistance Contribute to a collaborative team dynamic where open communication and mutual support are valued This position offers a consistent schedule at 31.25 hours per week from now through mid-June 2027, with all work conducted onsite.
