Key Qualifications:

Experience working in a school setting, especially with elementary-age children Ability to meet requirements to work as a Paraprofessional under Rhode Island DOE regulations Familiarity with supporting students with varying disabilities, including language-based needs and those on the autism spectrum Comfort with assisting students in daily care activities, including toileting and diaper changes Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting the classroom as part of a collaborative team

Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to K-3 students in an intensive elementary classroom environment Assist students with academic, social, behavioral, and self-care activities, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere Work collaboratively with six rotating teaching assistants to meet student needs and classroom goals Implement instructional and behavior plans under the guidance of teachers and intervention specialists Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
