Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a Teacher Assistant, Behavior Aide, or Paraprofessional in a transition program near Lincoln, RI. You'll collaborate with educational staff to provide positive behavior support and essential assistance to students, ensuring a safe and encouraging learning environment. This is a contract position, available ASAP through November 2026 with the possibility of extension for the full school year. The full-time schedule runs from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, offering steady hours for dedicated professionals. What we're seeking: An associate's degree or higher, or successful completion of the ParaPro Exam or a valid Teaching Assistant Certificate Previous experience supporting students and managing behavioral needs, especially in a school or special education setting Ability and willingness to assist in transition programs, including providing toileting support Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a compassionate, patient approach to challenging behaviors In this role, your responsibilities will include: Working closely with classroom teachers and specialists to implement behavioral interventions and individualized support plans Providing one-on-one or small group instruction and encouragement to students with diverse learning needs Assisting students with daily activities, including transitions and personal care Monitoring behavior and progress, offering feedback and support as needed Maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating as an active participant in team meetings In addition to a consistent work schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, you'll enjoy a competitive hourly pay rate of $18-20.
