Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated CNA/Paraprofessional to join our educational team, committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will provide essential assistance within classroom settings, ensuring that students with disabilities receive personalized support to thrive academically and socially. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and classroom curricula tailored for students with disabilities. Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs. Support classroom management by promoting positive behavior strategies and behavior management techniques. Collaborate with educators and specialists to develop lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, and other core subjects aligned with early childhood education standards. Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction with students requiring alternative communication supports. Support classroom activities including toddler care, preschool programs, Montessori methods, or other early childhood educational approaches. Maintain confidentiality of student information and handle sensitive data responsibly. Assist in developing curriculum modifications and behavioral interventions based on student needs. Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment by supporting students during transitions, physical activities, and classroom routines. Skills Proven experience working with children or students with disabilities in educational or childcare settings. Knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development and implementation. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies and behavior management techniques. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or preschool frameworks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in American Sign Language preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals for comprehensive student support. Experience supporting classroom activities involving literacy education, basic math skills, and curriculum development. Competence in managing behavioral challenges through positive reinforcement and individualized behavior plans. Ability to provide physical assistance safely for students requiring mobility or daily living support.
