Special Education Paraprofessional (PRESCHOOL)
JOB SUMMARY
Cache County School District is seeking a Special Education Preschool Paraprofessional to join our collaborative classroom team. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will provide targeted intervention and daily support for preschool students with special needs. The ideal candidate brings prior experience with children, a passion for quality care, and a strong commitment to being reliable, punctual, organized, and professional every day.
HOURS:
Monday
  • Thursday 8:35am
  • 11:55am AND 1:00pm
  • 3:50pm (No holidays or weekends)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct supervision of students in the classroom Collect data regularly regarding skills across developmental domains Under the direction of the classroom teacher, instruct students regarding developing peer interactions and social skills Adapt classroom work under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce lesson plans Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when managing students with challenging behavior Administer assistance to medically fragile children Implement positive behavior supports, behavior plans, and interventions as needed Assists with daily living skills (e.g. toileting, changing diapers, feeding, personal hygiene, etc.) for the purpose of demonstrating skills and/or providing needed care Attend to details and follow tasks through to completion Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality Monitor student behavior and make quick, effective decisions Develop and maintain effective working relationships with preschool teams Organized, reliable & consistent Punctual Maintain professional attitude
BASIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for the purpose of diapering, performing transfers, transitions, and position changes Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, and sitting in student-size chairs) for extended periods of time Must be able to move from sitting on floor to standing position repeatedly Must be able to utilize quick body movements to maintain safety and implement student behavior plans

High School diploma or equivalent Willing to participate in required district and school trainings
