Job Description
Summary Assumption BVM Catholic School in Pulaski is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Teacher Aide to support students and the classroom teacher in a first and second grade multi-age learning environment. The Teacher Aide assists with instructional activities, classroom organization, student supervision, and daily routines while helping foster a positive, nurturing atmosphere grounded in Catholic values. This individual promotes student growth, safety, and well-being while modeling Christian behavior and supporting the mission of Catholic education. Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities, small-group and one-on-one learning. Provide academic support to students individually and in small groups. Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources. Support classroom management and reinforce expectations for student behavior. Assist students with organization, transitions, and daily routines. Supervise students during lunch and recess, ensuring a safe and positive environment. Monitor student safety and promptly communicate concerns to the classroom teacher or principal. Encourage respectful behavior, kindness, and cooperation among students. Assist with classroom organization, clerical tasks, and maintaining a clean learning environment. Model Catholic values and support the faith-centered mission of the school. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or principal. Requirements High school diploma required; associate degree or educational experience preferred Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or related setting preferred Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and parents Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education Virtus background check Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and actively supervise students throughout the school day Must be able to walk up stairs Ability to work both indoors and outdoors during recess supervision Must be able to work all school days 9am to 2pm
