Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Academic Tutor to inspire and support students across a variety of subjects and grade levels, in an after school program. In this role, you will provide personalized instruction to help learners achieve their academic goals, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence in their abilities. You will create engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and backgrounds. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys while honing your teaching skills in a dynamic environment. Duties Deliver one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in subjects such as mathematics, science, English language arts, and test preparation. Prepare materials tailored to each student's unique learning needs and goals, as needed. Assess students' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly. Collaborate with parents, teachers, or guardians to communicate student progress and identify additional support strategies when necessary. Experience Prior experience in tutoring or teaching across multiple age groups, including children and adolescents. Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional approaches based on individual learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and with special education needs is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and foster a supportive learning environment. Previous classroom management experience or childcare background is a plus for creating engaging educational experiences.
