Position Title Department of Physical Therapy Tutor Department Physical Therapy Division Academic Affairs Supervisor Martha Cammarata Supervisor Title Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy Description of Job Duties- Maintain confidentiality regarding students' academic performance and personal challenges by abiding by FERPA regulations.
- Assist students in understanding complex physical therapy concepts and materials through tutoring, skill checks, supplemental instruction, or classroom support as appropriate.
- Work closely with faculty members to align peer interactions through tutoring, skill checks, supplemental instruction, or classroom support with course objectives and requirements.
- Provide feedback to faculty regarding common areas of difficulty among students. Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a positive and collaborative learning environment.
- Provide encouragement and motivation to peers as they build confidence in their knowledge and skills.
- Foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help, including facilitating open communication with students to understand their specific needs.
- Encourage the use of effective study techniques such as active learning methods, group discussions, and practice scenarios.
