Job Description
Head of the Class Academic Center is dedicated to helping students improve their academic performance. We feel strongly that the focus should be on meeting the needs of each child in ways that enhance their performance, allowing them to attain the level of established standards rather than lowering the standards to their level of performance. Our goal is to give them the tools to function successfully in mainstream society, teaching them to overcome the obstacles as opposed to seeking ways around them. With a team of highly qualified and talented professionals, we offer individualized services to each child based on their specific needs. Our services include private tutoring in a variety of subject areas, private or group instruction for ACT/SAT preparation, summer workshops, college and career counseling, and programs for a variety of learning differences. We are looking for applicants proficient in upper level math and/or science courses (chemistry and physics primarily). Understanding of the AP/IB course curriculum is important in addition to SAT and ACT test understanding. Some tutors may be given the opportunity to tutor standardized test material once they show proficiency in each subject. Experience teaching or tutoring in the education field is also recommended.
