Job Overview Join our dynamic youth sports community as a Youth Baseball/Softball Umpire, where your enthusiasm for sports and dedication to fair play will help shape memorable experiences for young athletes. In this paid role, you will be responsible for officiating youth baseball and softball games, ensuring that rules are interpreted accurately and games are conducted safely and smoothly. Your energetic presence will promote sportsmanship, foster positive team environments, and uphold safety standards throughout each game. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your officiating skills while making a meaningful impact on young players' sporting journeys. Duties Officiate youth baseball and softball games, applying sports rules interpretation with clarity and consistency Enforce safety protocols, including proper manual handling techniques and emergency procedures such as AED operation and CPR when necessary Manage player conduct, resolve conflicts professionally, and promote respectful sportsmanship among participants Conduct pre-game inspections to ensure equipment safety and adherence to league standards Communicate effectively with coaches, players, parents, and fellow officials to facilitate smooth game flow Assist with setting up and breaking down game equipment, including heavy lifting of gear when required Monitor the field for safety hazards, ensuring compliance with all safety protocol adherence guidelines Experience Previous sports officiating experience or coaching background in baseball, softball, soccer, or basketball is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to interpret sports rules accurately and apply them consistently during gameplay Experience working with children in a sporting or educational setting is preferred Knowledge of basic first aid procedures, including CPR and AED operation, is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively in high-energy environments Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during games Familiarity with sports safety protocols and player management in sports officiating roles This role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about youth sports who want to contribute positively while gaining valuable officiating experience.
