Rainbow Chefs Academy is hiring an energetic and dependable instructor to lead fun, hands-on cooking and nutrition classes for students at Ralston Intermediate in Garden Grove. You do NOT need to be a professional chef or credentialed teacher. Ideally, you should be able to do a walkthrough of a recipe. We're looking for confident, engaging people who enjoy working with children and can create a fun, organized learning environment. If you have experience in education, after-school programs, childcare, youth programs, culinary arts, nutrition, food service, coaching, camps, or similar work, we'd love to hear from you. The Schedule Mondays only Consistent weekly program running September through November Approximately 1:15-4:00 PM Typically 3 paid hours per Monday In-person at assigned school site(s) in the Garden Grove area $28/hour This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent part-time work that fits around school, another job, or a flexible weekday schedule. What You'll Do You'll lead students through interactive no-heat cooking experiences designed to build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and healthy habits.

Responsibilities include:

Lead fun, hands-on food preparation and nutrition classes Guide students through simple, age-appropriate recipes Teach basic culinary techniques, nutrition, and food safety Create an energetic, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Manage groups of students and encourage participation and teamwork Complete basic classroom setup and cleanup Follow Rainbow Chefs Academy curriculum, recipes, and safety procedures We Give You the Tools to Teach You won't be expected to create lessons or develop recipes on your own.

Who We're Looking For Our strongest instructors are dependable, energetic, organized, confident leading groups, and genuinely enjoy working with kids. Experience in one or more of these areas is a plus: Teaching or substitute teaching After-school programs Paraprofessional/classroom support Childcare or youth development Summer camps or recreation programs Coaching Culinary arts or food service Nutrition or health education Tutoring or mentoring Culinary experience is welcome but not required. We provide training. Requirements Experience working with children or leading groups preferred Reliable transportation to assigned Bellflower school site(s) Dependable afternoon availability Comfortable managing and engaging groups of students Ability to complete and pay required background/onboarding requirements California Food Handler Certificate before starting Mandated Reporter Training Certificate before starting Associate's degree Part-time | Contract | Approximately 3 hours each day With a consistent daily assignment, instructors can expect approximately $84 per day .
