until filled Elementary Physical Education Teacher Custer County School District C-1 Position Summary We are seeking a positive, energetic, and student-centered Elementary Physical Education Teacher to join our small, rural school district. The successful candidate will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and sportsmanship for elementary students. This position offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community while making a meaningful impact in a supportive rural school setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for elementary students Promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy habits Create a positive classroom culture that encourages participation and respect Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum Maintain a safe and organized gymnasium and equipment area Assess student progress and maintain accurate records Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities as assigned Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success Participate in school activities, professional development, and district meetings Support the mission and goals of the school district and community Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field Valid Colorado teaching license (or ability to obtain) with appropriate endorsement Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a small-school environment Coaching experience is preferred but not required Contract Information Full-time teaching position Salary and benefits based on district Salary Schedule and experience Position begins in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year Application Process Complete job application: Custer County School District C-1 - Frontline Recruitment
