Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Science in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

Experience:

10+ years' experience in developing modifications to military or commercial aircraft including design and substantiation. Experience in FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements related to aircraft structural integrity. Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design Knowledge of and experience with military (or commercial) operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications Strong communications skills and work ethic.

Position Description:

Provides mechanical engineering support to F-5 Systems Lead Engineer within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226. Provides senior level review of mechanical design, modification and repair of F-5N+/F+ aircraft and adherence to Structural Integrity and Airworthiness considerations. Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including but not limited to; Structures, Mechanisms, and Flight Controls. As directed, coordinates and triages mechanical technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services. Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs. Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with key technical engineering products (including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as program contractual documents (including Statements of Work [SOW]).

Salary:

This is a part time on call position with an estimated hourly rate of $53 to $79 per hour. The rates will be dependent on experience.
