Base Salary 130k - 170k depending on background and expereince + equity + benefits Overview We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software systems powering advanced autonomous platforms. This hands-on role focuses on low-level firmware development, embedded systems architecture, hardware/software integration, and real-time applications. The ideal candidate has experience developing production-quality firmware and enjoys working closely with electronics, sensors, actuators, and embedded hardware. Candidates with experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, or other mission-critical embedded environments are strongly preferred. This is a high-impact engineering role where you'll contribute throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and prototyping through testing, manufacturing, and deployment. Key Responsibilities Embedded Firmware Development Develop and maintain embedded firmware for STM32 microcontrollers. Design and implement low-level drivers, hardware interfaces, peripheral communications, and real-time embedded applications. Develop reliable, production-quality firmware for autonomous systems. Debug, optimize, and improve firmware performance and reliability. Hardware & Software Integration Integrate firmware with electronics, sensors, actuators, and motor control systems. Troubleshoot hardware/software interactions. Support system bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation. Embedded Systems Development Develop and integrate communication protocols including

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). 3+ years of professional firmware engineering experience. Strong experience with Embedded C/C++ or Rust. Hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers. Experience developing production-quality embedded firmware. Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and debugging. Solid understanding of mechatronics and embedded hardware. Experience troubleshooting hardware/software interactions. Experience with embedded communication protocols including
UART, SPI, I
²C, and CAN. Preferred Qualifications Experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, or other mission-critical embedded environments strongly preferred. Experience with UAV/drone systems. Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Familiarity with embedded development environments. Experience with Rust embedded frameworks or asynchronous embedded development. Experience taking products from prototype through deployment. Pay:
