Job Description
About Us Atlantic Awnings & Metal Works is a leading manufacturer and installer of custom awnings, pergolas, aluminum canopies, and architectural shade structures throughout South Florida. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer/Draftsman to join our growing team. Position Summary The ideal candidate will have experience creating detailed shop drawings, 3D renderings, and construction drawings for custom aluminum and steel structures. Experience with awnings, pergolas, canopies, and architectural metal products is highly preferred. Responsibilities Create detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD. Produce realistic 3D renderings for client presentations and project visualization. Develop permit and engineering drawings as required. Take field measurements and incorporate them into production drawings. Utilize or learn Prodim Proliner software for digital measuring and drafting. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, production staff, and installers to ensure drawing accuracy. Revise drawings based on client, engineering, and field feedback. Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD (required). Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software such as SketchUp, Auto CAD or similar. Experience using Prodim Proliner is highly preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
