Job Description
Structural Buildings of MN, Inc. has been constructing dreams throughout Minnesota and the surrounding 5 State area since 1985. At Structural Buildings we design and construct a wide array of building types from post-frame, steel-frame, masonry, stud wall frame, SIP panel, and tilt-up concrete; ensuring our ability to provide the best type of building to meet all of our customer's needs. Whether they want an Agricultural, Commercial or Residential Building our team has the expertise to exceed all of their expectations. To continue our success, we need to add additional talented people to our team. We have a small company feel and a family- type culture, but the opportunity for growth and fulfillment that you would find in a large company. The Drafter will work under both the direct supervision of the Drafting Manager and independently to draft plans and details for a wide variety of buildings ranging from post frame storage buildings to turnkey homes. They will be responsible for producing accurate building plans that are to be used by the sales team, MTO/purchasing department, production team, and construction crews. Job Requirements Computer drafting (CAD) software experience is required. Preferred experience with REVIT A bachelor's or technical degree in Residential Design is preferred. 5+ years of drafting experience is preferred. Basic knowledge of building materials and construction methods is preferred. Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building codes is preferred. Competent with laptops, tablets and smart phones; basic computer skills are required. Strong communication skills; ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment; proactive and deadline-oriented. Ability to work independently and as a team; must have flexibility and a willingness to learn.
