Job Summary:

Our steel company in Matthews, NC is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our team. The CAD Operator will be responsible for producing accurate drawings and specifications based on information provided by customers and engineers. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to work efficiently under time constraints.

Primary Duties:

Review project files for accuracy. Determine proper dimensions of project components based on customer requirements and material limitations. Produce accurate project drawings with correct dimensions and up-to-date details for structural, fascia, and gutter items. Utilize AutoCAD software to generate high-quality drawings. Meet project deadlines and manage time effectively. Experience with 3D SolidWorks, Router-CIM, AXYZ, or Tekla Structures is a plus. Uphold the company's core values in all work practices.

Secondary Duties:

Maintain knowledge of current details for all brands and customers. Continuously look for ways to simplify drawings, details, and manufacturing processes. Run prints and change paper in machines when needed. Assist other CAD team members as needed. Support other departments with questions or problems regarding drawings. Generate fabrication drawings using 3D modeling when required.

Qualifications:

4-5 years of strong CAD experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines. Team-oriented, reliable, and able to take initiative. Experience in steel or metal fabrication is a plus.
