In this role, you will translate conceptual designs into accurate technical drawings that support custom audio, video, lighting, shading, climate control, networking, and security installations in high-end residential and commercial environments. You will work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, sales teams, and field technicians to ensure drawings are clear, precise, and aligned with project requirements, client expectations, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain CAD drawings for AV, lighting, shading, climate control, networking, and security system projects. Prepare wiring diagrams, rack elevations, device layouts, enlarged plans, elevations, and technical drawing packages. Produce accurate as-built plans and project documentation for field teams, project managers, and closeout packages. Review architectural plans, bid documents, scopes of work, and project requirements. Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and field teams during pre-sales, design, installation, and closeout phases. Coordinate drawing details with architects, engineers, interior designers, vendors, and manufacturers. Manage external references, scaled PDF backgrounds, layers, viewports, dimensions, annotations, and drawing standards. Maintain organized project files and support improvements to internal drafting standards and processes. Support internal teams with CAD-related needs across active projects. Qualifications 5+ years of professional CAD/drafting experience preferred. Experience with AutoCAD required. Experience in AV, low-voltage, smart home, lighting, shading, networking, security, or systems integration preferred. Ability to read and navigate architectural drawing sets, including floor plans, enlarged plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and construction documents. Ability to create clean, accurate, and professional drawing packages. Strong understanding of xrefs, viewports, layers, scaling, dimensions, annotations, and drawing organization. Ability to scale PDF references accurately and work with drawings in Model Space and Paper Space. Experience creating rack elevations, wiring diagrams, device layouts, cable pathways, and as-built drawings. Ability to interpret scopes of work, bid documents, and project notes to produce preliminary layouts. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time management skills. Preferred Experience Experience with D-Tools, Revit/BIM, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or project management software. Familiarity with AV, lighting, shading, climate control, security, access control, CCTV, networking, and low-voltage system layouts. Understanding of device placement, cable pathways, equipment locations, and field installation requirements. Requirements Ability to manage multiple projects, drawing revisions, deadlines, and changing priorities. Must be dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well with a team.
