DOE Based on experience Job Overview Our Company is searching for a skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Civil CAD Technician (CCT) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for performing Heavy Civil Take Off's in CAD and review CAD files for errors. You will also support our Estimators & Project Managers in preparing detailed scopes for outgoing bids. You will also help in determining the price of products or services to be needed on upcoming projects. Your work will directly support the success of our projects, and you'll collaborate closely with contractors, vendors/supplier and project managers throughout the planning process. Our reputation is built on strong relationships with clients who value quality over the lowest bid. General Civil CAD Technician Duties Generate models used for takeoffs. Analyze blueprints, perform takeoffs & review other design documentation to prepare time, cost, and materials estimates. Develop/draft preliminary shop drawings for in house design/build projects. Review material & labor requirements for select components. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss & formulate estimates & resolve issues. Prepare and input itemized line-items into excel software for developing estimates to be finalized by management. Qualifications > Certified Computer Aided Technology (CAD) Degree/Certification > Minimum of 3 years of CAD experience in heavy civil projects > Proficiency with Heavy Bid, Agtek, Earthworks, or similar take-off software would be a plus. > Familiarity with Trimble or Topcon technology. > Familiar with countour lines, invert / outvert, fire-line / water-lines, sewer / stormwater and other civil blueprint details. > Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. > Ability to work in the office daily, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration. > Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with general contractors and internal teams.
