Job Title:
CAD Technician Job Description The BIM Technician is responsible for the technical execution of 3D models and the maintenance of project-specific CAD data to align with client needs. This role focuses on producing and maintaining the integrity of the digital model, ensuring that design data is accurately captured and managed throughout the project lifecycle. The BIM Technician collaborates closely with Project Managers and the BIM Manager to enhance project efficiency through effective use of existing software. Responsibilities Execute and maintain 3D models and project-specific CAD data. Ensure the accuracy and management of design data throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with Project Managers and the BIM Manager to enhance project efficiency. Provide technical support for maintaining project spaces. Engage with engineering departments to accommodate design needs and provide technical solutions. Essential Skills Proficiency in CAD products such as Plant3D, CADWorx, Revit, Recap, CloudWorx, and Microstation. Experience with point clouds and 3D scanning. Familiarity with process design for Specialty Chemical, Food, Pharmaceutical, Power, and Industrial sectors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of API, NFPA, BOCA, ANSI, and ASHRAE codes. Understanding of common equipment used in chemical and industrial manufacturing. Sensitivity to maintenance and constructability considerations in design. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to quality. Work Environment The work environment consists of a team of one Department Manager (PE), one senior engineer (PE), two engineers (both PEs), and one senior structural designer. This is an in-office position located in Midlothian, VA, near interstate 288 and route 360, with office hours from Monday to Friday. The company has a family-oriented culture and is one of the largest privately held multi-discipline engineering firms in central Virginia. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midlothian, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
