Centerport, CT Responsibilities:
Conduct process development research as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Sr. level will need to lead projects at times. Operate and maintain advanced laboratory reactor systems, including Mettler Toledo EasyMax. Utilize process analytical technologies such as IR, Raman, FBRM, ReactIR, and EasyViewer. Design experiments and analyze data to understand reaction performance and process behavior. Investigate unexpected or failed reactions and identify potential causes and process improvements. Perform and interpret mass and energy balances, reaction kinetics, and crystallization data. Work with data-rich software and experimental results to identify trends and make technical recommendations. Consider how processes can be optimized and scaled from the laboratory toward manufacturing. Prepare technical reports and clearly present findings to internal teams and customers. Support project timelines, priorities, and customer deliverables. Maintain high standards for laboratory safety, quality, documentation, and waste management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and continuously improve processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant industry experience for the mid-level role and 5+ years of experience for the senior engineer. Industry experience in pharmaceuticals, CDMO, CRO, chemical manufacturing, or a similar environment is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with automated reactor platforms, particularly Mettler Toledo EasyMax. Strong R&D or process development background. Experience working with data-rich experimental systems and process analytical technologies. Ability to analyze complex datasets, recognize unexpected results, and determine potential causes. Strong understanding of chemical reactions, process development, and scale-up principles. Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently as well as with a multidisciplinary team.
