Shift Supervisor Location:

Plastics Manufacturing Pay Range:
$30 - $35 per hour A well-established plastics manufacturer in the Morgantown area is seeking an experienced Process Technician / Shift Supervisor to support injection molding operations and lead production team members on shift. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in plastic injection molding and the ability to manage and develop a team. Position Overview This role is responsible for setting up, processing, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding machines while overseeing daily manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure quality standards are met, production targets are achieved, and safety and housekeeping standards are maintained. Key Responsibilities Injection Molding & Processing Start up and maintain molding machines using approved setup parameters Generate and update process parameter sheets as needed Perform mold changes according to production schedule Monitor and maintain approved cycle times Troubleshoot machines and respond to alarms to minimize downtime Build and set up end-of-arm tooling Create and modify 6-axis robot programs Drive continuous improvement efforts through cycle time optimization and scrap reduction Complete clamping and watering diagrams as required Ensure proper documentation control and setup binder management Perform housekeeping and maintain clean, organized press areas Quality & Compliance Submit first-piece and last-piece samples for approval Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections Complete inspection documentation in quality systems Label and verify finished containers before warehouse transfer Stop production when necessary to address quality concerns Maintain compliance with Quality Management System requirements Shift Leadership Supervise all aspects of the manufacturing department during assigned shift Monitor production output, schedule adherence, and efficiency Complete daily production reports Train, coach, and develop employees Conduct 90-day and annual performance evaluations Address personnel matters and enforce company policies Promote and enforce workplace safety standards Maintain plant cleanliness and organization Communicate effectively across shifts and departments Maintenance & Support Apply strong mechanical aptitude to support equipment troubleshooting Assist with implementation of new equipment and process improvements Operate forklift (training provided if needed) Use appropriate safety equipment at all times Qualifications Experience with plastic injection molding processes and machinery Understanding of how processing impacts part quality Experience leading or training manufacturing employees Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills Effective communication and teamwork skills Forklift experience preferred Willingness to participate in ongoing training This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing manufacturing operation that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
