About the Role As a Senior Building Systems Engineer, you will drive the structural integrity and innovation of high-performance residential projects. You will leverage your expertise in light-frame wood and steel design to optimize construction workflows and deliver scalable, constructable engineering solutions. Responsibilities Engineer robust foundational and structural systems for diverse residential developments, ensuring compliance and safety. Produce comprehensive construction documentation and permit sets for multiple concurrent project pipelines. Drive design-for-manufacturing initiatives by collaborating closely with cross-functional production and architectural teams. Oversee field performance through site observations, submittal reviews, and technical RFI resolution. Architect internal engineering tools and automated workflows to accelerate project delivery and design precision. Foster interdisciplinary partnerships with procurement and site operations to ensure seamless project execution from strategy to completion. Required Skills Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Structural Engineering. 8+ years of professional experience specializing in light-framed wood systems, architectural steel, and foundation design. Advanced proficiency in BIM software, specifically Revit, for complex modeling and documentation. Proven track record of developing custom engineering tools or process improvements to enhance team efficiency. Preferred Skills Experience with modular or off-site construction methodologies. Strong background in unconventional structural problem-solving and design optimization. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and lead technical coordination across large-scale projects.
