Job Description

Lead the Design of Workplaces People Love You're an experienced, client focused designer who knows commercial furniture inside and out and thrives on owning complex projects from first concept to final punch list. You want challenging work, real influence, and a team that values your expertise and leadership. If that sounds like you, Forward Tilt might be your next chapter. We're looking for a Senior Designer who combines strategic design thinking with technical precision, leads with confidence, and raises the bar for the entire design team. What You'll Do Own multiple projects of varying size and complexity from programming and space planning through installation and closeout. Run client planning and design meetings, confidently presenting space plans, finishes, renderings, and recommendations. Translate each client's vision, brand, and goals into creative, functional, and cost conscious workplace solutions. Direct site verifications, field measurements, and evaluations of existing furniture and site conditions. Develop and review specification and installation drawings, coordinating against architectural, electrical, and A&D documents. Build and validate complete, order ready product specifications before release to order entry. Anticipate project challenges and resolve them before they affect schedule, budget, or installation. Develop design timelines, estimate design hours, and manage deliverables against scope and deadlines. Contribute design expertise to proposals, scopes of work, and client facing documentation. Keep clients and internal teams informed on project status, open decisions, risks, and next steps. Partner with sales, project management, order entry, operations, and installation teams from design through closeout. Facilitate preinstallation meetings and support punch list reviews to ensure final spaces meet design intent. Review team design work and specifications to uphold departmental quality standards. Mentor fellow designers and help elevate the consistency and quality of the design team. What Makes You a Great Fit You take ownership of your projects and the accuracy of every deliverable. You're a confident communicator who is at ease presenting to clients and leading meetings. You stay calm and organized while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines. You see problems coming and bring solutions, not surprises. You enjoy sharing what you know and helping other designers grow. Why Forward Tilt Forward Tilt is an experience driven, growth minded team where designers do more than produce drawings; they help shape memorable workplaces. As a Senior Designer, you'll be a go to leader on our design team, mentoring fellow designers and helping set the standard for design excellence across every project. Top performers in this role have clear growth paths into design leadership. If you're a seasoned, solutions minded designer ready to lead work you're proud of, we'd love to talk. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field, with 3+ years of commercial furniture dealership design experience. Advanced proficiency in CET Designer (required). Advanced knowledge of commercial furniture specification, product application, pricing, lead times, and manufacturer standards. Strong working knowledge of architectural plans, electrical and data coordination, ADA requirements, building codes, and workplace planning principles. Proven ability to independently manage large, complex, multi phase projects. Exceptional attention to detail and strong client facing presentation skills.
