The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing and coordinating water, sewer, drainage, and/or dry utility systems (gas, electric, telecommunications) for roadway, land development, or municipal infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of public and private sector projects while developing toward professional licensure. Responsibilities Prepare utility design plans, profiles, and details for water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and/or dry utility relocation projects Coordinate with utility owners (UAOs) to identify conflicts, resolve relocations, and develop utility agreements Perform hydraulic and hydrologic calculations to support stormwater and utility system design Assist with permitting submittals to agencies such as FDOT, water management districts, and local municipalities Prepare technical specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates Support senior engineers and project managers in project delivery, schedule tracking, and client coordination Review record drawings and as-builts for accuracy and compliance Attend utility coordination meetings and site visits as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program 2-3 years of relevant experience in utility design, utility coordination, or related civil infrastructure work EIT/FE certification required; actively pursuing PE licensure preferred Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with GIS software is a plus Working knowledge of FDOT Utility Accommodation Manual, local utility standards, and relevant design codes Strong understanding of hydraulic/hydrologic principles as applied to utility and drainage design Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients, utility owners, and agencies Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license for occasional site visits Preferred Experience Prior work on FDOT or municipal roadway/drainage projects Experience with utility conflict matrices and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) coordination Familiarity with permitting processes for water management districts (e.g., SFWMD, SJRWMD) and local jurisdictions What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match PE licensure support (exam fees, study materials, mentorship
