Civil Designer
Job Description
WSP is hiring a Civil Designer to join our Site Civil Engineering Business Line in Cincinnati, Ohio. Candidates located in Exton, Pennsylvania, or Billings, Montana, will also be considered. The Opportunity Join our Power Delivery Team and help deliver impactful projects that solve complex challenges for our clients. You'll collaborate with talented professionals and multiple design teams to support successful project delivery. Through hands-on project experience, departmental training initiatives, and mentorship from senior staff and engineers, you'll continually expand your technical knowledge and skills. Your Impact Capable of working independently Provide innovative recommendations and solutions on project challenges Self-motivation to provide high quality of work Moderate understanding of civil engineering infrastructure, sitework and environmental construction procedures, specifications, and materials Moderate understanding of site layout, grading, drainage and storm water management design Moderate to strong understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D Basic understanding of MicroStation to produce Civil Drawing Packages Moderate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite Develop working knowledge of Industry and Client/Power Standards and Compliance Participating in dialogue with project teams, ensuring project expectations are understood prior to task execution Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and coordinate with project teams on product delivery status in relationship to required due date Clear communication of work schedule with project teams to provide confidence that project expectations will be met Who You are High School Diploma. Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience. Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques. Understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D sheet set production, topographic models and grading modeling Willing and able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy Willingness to coordinate with other team members to meet project needs Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members Desired Education/Experience Associate's degree in closely related discipline is preferred. Advanced understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D Site/Land Development experience, grading, drainage, stormwater management design modeling Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus #LI-DC3
