Job Summary:

The Civil Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and execution of structural engineering projects supporting overhead crane systems and industrial facilities. This role performs structural calculations for steel and concrete systems, develops engineering solutions that meet applicable codes and standards, and manages projects from concept through completion. The Civil Engineer collaborates with sales, engineering, customers, subcontractors, and field personnel to deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

Calculations for design and analysis of crane supporting structures, affiliated components, and building evolving around steel and concrete design. Conform all applicable design specifications and maintain detailed records. Coordinate with sales team to propose work. Coordinate and manage project from start to finish. Direct and supervise subcontractors and technicians to complete projects. Planning and preparation of material orders and delivery. Maintain deadlines and budgets to demands of the customer. Ability to collect and interpret data. Abide by safety policies of Simmers Crane Design & Services, the customer, and OSHA standards. Prepare documentation such as invoicing and project closeout. Manage time to work on multiple projects at one time. React in a timely manner to problem solve stressful situations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree. Entry Level, preferred experience in engineering, and project management. Must be safety conscious for both themselves and for others. Critical thinking, decision making, and executing corrective actions are all requirements for this position. Strong sense of organization and attention to detail. Strong technical knowledge and computer literate; FEA software (Finite Element Analysis) Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must have the ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field. Travel required Must be safety conscious for both themselves and for others.
