Contract Job Description We are seeking a Civil Designer with 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably focused on site development projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of land development projects while working closely with Project Managers and experienced engineering professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong Civil 3D design skills, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to continue developing technically while contributing to project success and mentoring junior team members. Benefits Flexible scheduling Hybrid work arrangement after 90 days Performance-based bonus opportunities twice per year Mentorship and career development opportunities Collaborative and supportive team culture What You'll Accomplish Develop civil engineering plans and technical specifications for site development projects Prepare engineering calculations related to stormwater, drainage, utilities, and earthwork Create and modify project designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software Support land development and site design projects from concept through completion Collaborate with Project Managers to execute designs, develop work plans, and track project deliverables Apply applicable California codes, regulations, and engineering standards to project designs Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to support successful project delivery Assist with quality control by identifying design issues and developing solutions Mentor junior engineers and interns while contributing to a positive team environment What We're Looking For We're seeking a motivated Civil Designer who combines strong technical skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex design challenges, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to a team-focused environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering E.I.T. certification 3+ years of civil engineering design experience, preferably in site development Experience with land development, grading, drainage, stormwater, and site design Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D Working knowledge of California codes, regulations, and standards related to major site development projects Experience using civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydrology and Hydraulic software, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to function effectively in a team environment Strong client service mindset Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Experience mentoring junior engineers, interns, or entry-level team members Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure Additional experience supporting complex land development projects in California Work Environment Hybrid work arrangement available after 90 days Flexible work hours Modern office setting with collaborative workspaces and conference rooms Team-oriented culture focused on mentorship, learning, and professional growth Supportive and family-friendly environment that values employee well-being and development If you're looking to grow your career in civil engineering while working on impactful land development projects with a team that values mentorship, collaboration, and professional development, we'd love to hear from you. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Roseville, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.44 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
