We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team in Roanoke, Alabama. This role performs assembly, termination, and testing of passive fiber optic products. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, close attention to detail, and a knowledge of fiber optic assembly and test techniques. This is a production floor position ideal for a candidate entering the manufacturing field, or an experienced assembler/technician looking to specialize in fiber optic component assembly (e.g., patch cords, pigtails, high fiber count cables, splitters, connectors, closures, patch panels, or related passive fiber products). Key Responsibilities Perform fiber optic assembly operations (stripping, cleaving, termination, polish, and test), following documented work instructions and standard operating procedures Support new product builds, sample builds, first-article runs, and process validation activities under the direction of Engineering Train new assembly operators Create and maintain production routings in ERP system Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations consistent with 5S practices Assist with setup, changeover, and basic maintenance of fixtures, tooling, and test equipment between product runs Participate in continuous improvement activities (5S, Kaizen events, suggestion implementation) alongside Engineering Follow all safety procedures and proper handling/disposal practices Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and process specifications Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail for precision assembly work Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping (MS Office) Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
