- This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles at a high technical level.
You perform work in accordance with established repair orders and company standards, using schematics and diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and resolve vehicle malfunctions. You play a key role in ensuring vehicle safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction while supporting and mentoring other technicians in the shop.
- Responsibilities
- + Diagnose and repair electric, hybrid, and regular vehicles using schematics, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer guidelines.
+ Perform all work as outlined on repair orders with a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
+ Determine the root cause of vehicle malfunctions and complete necessary repairs or adjustments.
+ Communicate with the parts department to identify, request, and obtain required parts for repairs.
+ Save and tag parts from repair jobs when work is covered under warranty or requested by the technical team.
+ Inspect assigned vehicles thoroughly to determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended.
+ Inform the shop foreman promptly if additional work is needed, if outlined work is unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeframe.
+ Document all work performed and any recommended services clearly and completely on the work order.
+ Road test vehicles when required to verify repairs, or coordinate road tests through the shop foreman.
+ Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins and recall information to ensure up-to-date service practices.
+ Supervise and guide other technicians, providing mentorship, training, and support on maintenance processes and protocols.
+ Maintain accountability for all company-owned tools and manuals, ensuring they are returned to their proper place in the same condition as received.
+ Provide professional, customer-facing interaction and present a polished, reliable image to clients and their customers.
- Essential Skills
- + Electric Vehicle certification from ASE or an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
+ Master-level automotive technician experience with at least 5 years as an automotive mechanic or technician.
+ A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with electric vehicles (EV), hybrid vehicles, or electrical vehicle maintenance.
+ At least 4 ASE certifications, with the willingness and ability to obtain additional ASE certifications within 1 year.
+ Strong diagnostic skills using schematics, fuses, and diagnostic equipment for mechanical and electrical systems.
+ Proven experience training and mentoring newer technicians on maintenance processes and protocols.
+ Ability to supervise the work of other technicians and ensure quality standards are met.
+ Customer-facing experience with a professional, presentable demeanor suitable for interaction with clients and their customers.
+ Ability to perform work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced service shop environment.
+ Accountability and care in handling company-owned tools, manuals, and equipment.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus.
+ Experience working with hybrid or electrical vehicle systems and EV maintenance.
+ ASE Certified Mechanic back ground beyond the minimum required certifications is highly valued.
+ Comfort using technical bulletins, recall notices, and training materials to stay current on vehicle technologies.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with both electrical and mechanical systems in modern vehicles.
+ Experience in a master technician role, providing guidance and oversight to a team of technicians.

- This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $45.
00 - $57.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
