1st Shift | Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:30
PM Compensation:
Starting at $50,000/year (commensurate with experience) PrideStaff is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Electronic Technician for a high-quality manufacturing client in Libertyville, IL. In this role, you will assemble, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair precision electronic products and components. Working directly with electronic circuitry, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and specialized test equipment, you will play a critical role in ensuring all items meet exact quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, skilled at working with small electronic components, and comfortable diagnosing complex electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly & Soldering:
Assemble electronic products, PCBs, components, and hardware following technical drawings and work instructions. Perform through-hole and surface-mount soldering/desoldering as needed.
Testing & Calibration:
Perform functional testing and precision calibration on electronic instruments and finished products using digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to diagnose defective components, wiring, or circuit-related issues, completing necessary repairs or replacements.
Quality & Compliance:
Inspect finished assemblies for workmanship and strict adherence to quality-control standards. Follow ESD-safe handling procedures and established manufacturing guidelines.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement:
Maintain accurate records of test results, calibration details, and repair history. Identify recurring production issues and collaborate with engineering and management to resolve them.
Workstation Maintenance:
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized and well-maintained. Assist cross-functional teams with technical issues as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical school certificate, associate degree, or formal coursework in electronics or electrical technology is strongly preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, testing, calibration, or repair is preferred. Soldering experience is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and wiring diagrams. Solid understanding of core electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, ICs, power supplies). Hands-on familiarity with digital multimeters and standard test equipment.
Core Competencies:
Strong troubleshooting ability, high attention to detail, good manual dexterity, basic computer proficiency for documentation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Desired /

(Experience with any of the following is a plus) Electronic instrumentation & industrial process-control equipment Signal conditioning & 4-20 mA current loops Temperature, sensor, or precision calibration equipment PCB-level troubleshooting, repair, and quality-control testing
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods. Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small components and fine hand tools. Ability to lift and move materials standard to daily manufacturing operations.
