Job Description
Drawing Technician Overview The Drawing Technician supports Memorial Health's Facilities Design & Construction team by creating, updating, and maintaining accurate architectural and engineering drawings for healthcare facilities across the health system. This role is responsible for ensuring facility documentation, space plans, and construction records remain current to support renovation projects, regulatory compliance, facility operations, and long-term strategic planning. Working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clinical stakeholders, the Drawing Technician utilizes AutoCAD and Revit to produce high-quality technical drawings and maintain facility documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering accurate information in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Qualifications/Education Associate degree or completion of a two-year technical program in CAD Design, Drafting, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field required. Licensure/Certification None required. Experience Experience creating and maintaining architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit required. Experience supporting construction, renovation, or facilities management projects preferred. Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred. Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar document management software preferred. Healthcare facilities design or healthcare operations experience preferred. Project coordination or project management experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards, construction methods, and design principles. Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes. Understanding of healthcare facility design standards, building codes, and life safety requirements preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software. Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a customer-focused approach while working independently and collaboratively. Essential Functions Produce, update, and maintain accurate architectural, engineering, and space planning drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Revit. Maintain drawing files, electronic records, and documentation to ensure accuracy and version control. Support renovation, construction, and facility improvement projects by providing current facility drawings and technical documentation. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clinical departments to gather information and incorporate project updates. Assist with space planning, departmental layouts, and facility documentation to support operational and strategic initiatives. Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, and Memorial Health drafting standards. Perform field verification of existing conditions and incorporate revisions into facility drawings as needed. Assist with maintaining Building Information Modeling (BIM) data and facility records. Support regulatory surveys, accreditation activities, and facility planning initiatives through accurate documentation. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned.
