- Full-time Join the Volo Internet + Tech Team as a Fiber & Wireless Network Technician Are you a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, individual who is energized by hands-on work in diverse environments?
What You'll Do:
Install and maintain fiber and wireless network hardware Work on rooftops, in crawlspaces, on towers (up to 350 feet), and in all weather conditions Configure, test, and troubleshoot Ethernet switches and other network components Perform basic fiber optic testing and telephone/Ethernet wiring installations Conduct light electrical work, drywall repair, and general property maintenance Locate and mark underground wiring using specialized equipment Operate small- to medium-sized equipment such as trenchers
What We're Looking For:
Ideal candidates have exposure to or experience with: Ethernet and telephone wiring installation and testing Basic networking and switch configuration Fiber optic cable handling and testing Use of hand and power tools Light construction, property maintenance, or electrical work Trenching or underground utility locationRequirements:
Comfortable working at heights of up to 350 feet and in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, towers) Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, bend/kneel, and work outdoors year-round Valid driver's license with a clean record (no major violations in the past two years) Able to pass a pre-hire drug screen (and post-incident testing, if applicable) Available for occasional weekend work Professional appearance and communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic) Reliable smartphone with unlimited text/data plan (reimbursement provided) Comfortable using computers and mobile technologyWe Provide:
