FIBER SPLICER APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 19 YEARS OLD AND HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.

Requirements:
MUST BE 19 YEARS OF AGE. MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must provide own winter weather gear and lace up steel toe boots. Willingness to Travel within with in 500 miles of Omaha. Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol requirements Must possess and maintain a clean driver's abstract and valid full-driver's license appropriate to the requirements of the vehicle being driven Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work Conditions:
Must have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 70 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat). Maintain a fun, safe, and professional work environment
Responsibilities/Work Environment:
Fusion splice fiber optic cables, to include terminating various types of fiber optic connectors. Work with OSP/ISP to perform fusion splicing as directed. Installation and testing of pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types and sizes of cable. Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables. Provide detailed reports of field splicing activity. Maintain fiber asset inventory and splicing records. Communicate with Project Manager and Team Leaders on workload status in order to meet designated goals. Maintain a positive attitude as well as a strong and safe work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Distinguish between colors and read plan sets and splicing matrices. Possess exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented. Interact effectively with other team members and customers. Capable of working under pressure in a fast paced and quickly changing work environment with deadlines. Work independently without supervision. Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment utilized in splicing fiber. Operate company vehicles and properly tow/back-up trailers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls for a minimum of 8 hours a day. Perform physically demanding tasks, including the ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, the position requires frequent movement and activity relating to using keyboards, viewing data on computer displays and communicating verbally and in writing. Troubleshoot problems. Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction processes . Read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness . Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in outdoor settings in all weather conditions. Outdoor work may be required in the inspection of buried cable, construction sites, and field facilities.
