We are looking for a locally based splicer who is willing to travel occasionally as needed . The ideal candidate is familiar with fiber splicing and testing equipment, follows safe work practices, and takes pride in clean, organized work and accurate documentation. The $23.00 hourly rate is our starting base—not a cap. Starting pay will depend heavily on your experience and ability to perform the work. Responsibilities Perform single-fiber and mass fusion/ribbon splicing for inside plant and outside plant installations. Conduct OTDR testing and trace analysis to verify fiber performance, troubleshoot problems, and identify faults. Perform optical power meter testing and accurately record test results. Complete fiber distribution hub (FDH) cabinet buildouts , including fiber routing, splice tray organization, labeling, and cable management. Maintain clear, detailed splice records, test results, and field documentation , noting discrepancies and changes made in the field. Respond to callouts, emergency repairs, and service-restoration needs , and travel between New Mexico markets occasionally as required. Qualifications Hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing and testing, including familiarity with fusion splicers, cleavers, OTDRs, optical power meters, and related equipment. Ability to read and follow splice diagrams, fiber assignments, and project documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safe fiber handling and jobsite practices. Ability to work independently and coordinate with construction crews, supervisors, and other field personnel. Based locally in New Mexico, with availability for occasional travel and emergency callouts as needed.
