Duties Help This position works within an Air Nional Guard Aviion Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron or Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop or Communicions/Navigion/ECM, Guidance and Control shop th supports aircraft. It is an Air Nional Guard dual stus technician position th requires military membership, compible military skill assignment and classificion. The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibre, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integred electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstre the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integred systems associed with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial or radar navigion systems.MAJOR DUTIES
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integred systems. Completes operional checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) which are linked with integred systems and LRUs which are independent or associed with nonintegred systems. Isoles unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schemics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems (FLTS). Adjusts and aligns system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuors, servos, computers and other reled components. Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibres complete electronic avionics multi systems control, Demonstres a thorough working knowledge of complex aircraft avionics and or ECM systems such as the electronics package in a highly automed aircraft where the integred flight and Integred Counter-measures System, electronic multiplex communicions bus, Inertial Navigion System, multi-function displays, head-up display, da transfer equipment, Global Positioning System, Situion Awareness Da-Link (SADL), Da Modem, Flight Control System, pitot-stic system and reled instrumention, flight director instrumention, Central Air Da Computer, engine, hydraulic and fuel quantity indicing systems, voice message warning, Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Sellite Communicions (SATCOM) Da, intercom, secure voice communicions, Identificion Friend or Foe (IFF), Tactical Air Navigion System (TACAN), Evalues operional characteristics of the integred systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indicions, computer registers and printouts. Reviews and analyzes maintenance da; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adeque test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or da corrections. Analyzes equipment failure and malfunctions and suggests changes to improve operion. Monitors the operion of complex, interreled systems, analyzes opering trends, proposes preventive maintenance down time to assure continued opering capability, and recommends components for overhaul or engineering evaluion for disposal. Troubleshoots operional malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief da, Technical Orders, schemic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, da analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Performs on and off-equipment maintenance on aircraft avionics such as automic flight control systems, instrument systems, communicion and navigion systems, and inertial navigions systems. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical da, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, inities merial deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical da, and assists in design changes as necessary. Documents all discrepancies and maintenance actions performed by inputting informion into the electronic records informion systems (i.e.:CAMS, IMDS, GO-81, REMIS
). May upload/download chaff/flare dispensers. This hazardous task may involve the inspection, storage and handling of explosive devices; to include flares, chaff, impulse cartridges and similar items. Prepares for and participes in Aerospace Expeditionary Force (AEF) tasking, deployments and various inspections and exercises. Processes and accounts for due-in from maintenance (DIFM) supply assets. Ensures th merial and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained and th funds are not obliged for merial or parts without proper justificion. GS13 : Must have least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integred Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibre, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integred electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences included the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integred systems associed with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigion systems. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of integred electronic, pneumic, hydraulic, optical, and mechanical systems of such applicions as digital or analog computers, digital display devices which enables the incumbent to understand and predict the effects of subsystem malfunctions on the total function system. Ability to apply electronic theories and practices to identify, isole and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integred systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error da and trace problems back through a number of units of the system to loce deficiencies. Thorough knowledge of the principles of digital and analog circuits, solid ste devices theory, electromechanical devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operion and integred circuit theory. Ability to interpret/trace schemics, logic/wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Knowledge of the technology and practices which integre the components of the systems into a total functional system. Determine methods of repair where extremely complex relionships exist among numerous inter-connected units and control circuits; not only within the individual control systems but between them as well. Knowledge and ability to perform complex mhemics including algebra and trigonometric formulas to calcule power relionships, signal phasing, etc., and to solve work reled problems. Ability to accurely identify, isole, repair, align, and adjust complete multi-system complex malfunctions of the aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft titude control, navigion and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with da feedback loops. Ability to follow drawings for multi-system complexes of numerous integred systems; to trace the effect of a change in one subsystem to other integred subsystems and determine which controls and devices must be changed or adjusted to compense; and to repair, align, and adjust complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automed aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft titude control, navigion, and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems th are extensively interconnected with da feedback loops. Skill in the set up and operion of computer controlled test equipment such as Portable Automed Test Stion (PATS), Joint Service Electronic Comb System Tester (JSECST),test stands, oscilloscopes (dual trace, storage, digitized), spectrum, network and distortion analyzers, frequency counters, and signal generors; in interpreting complex drawings, specificions, and schemics of complete multisystem complexes such as the complete electronics package for an aircraft including numerous interconnections of signal phs both between and within individual subsystems of the multi-system complex; and in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic integred multi-systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operion of a large number of circuits and functions, and the interaction of subsystems which cree malfunctions. Educion High School diploma is a mandory requirement. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable.
