Job Description

Lead critical automation and process control systems, drive high-impact plant improvements, and shape the future of smart manufacturing with advanced Yokogawa, PLC, SCADA, and digital technologies.
SALARY:
$125k/yr.
LOCATION
Mesa, AZ
SCHEDULE
Full-time; Monday-Friday | 7:00am-5:00pm

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Yokogawa DCS platforms, including CENTUM VP and FAST/TOOLS, along with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems; support industrial communications, historian, alarm management, backups, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery.

Execute automation projects, including system upgrades, migrations, commissioning, loop tuning, control strategy improvements, FAT/SAT, startup, validation, and shutdown/turnaround support.

Develop and maintain automation documentation, including control narratives, cause & effect matrices, P&IDs, functional design specifications, loop drawings, MOC documentation, PSSR, HAZOP, and process safety requirements.

Provide plant-wide technical support and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and E&I teams to improve reliability and performance; develop preventive maintenance strategies, train personnel, and support digitalization, analytics, AI, and smart manufacturing initiatives.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and process control engineering.

Strong hands-on expertise with Yokogawa CENTUM VP and
FAST/TOOLS, PLC
programming, HMI/SCADA development, industrial Ethernet networks, alarm management, historians, and process control optimization.

Knowledge of ISA standards, process safety management (PSM), industrial cybersecurity, functional safety/IEC 61511, SIL systems, and the ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and control narratives.

Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, and project coordination skills; experience with batch automation, recipe management, OPC
UA, SQL, MES
integration, virtualization, server/network infrastructure, and control valve/instrument integration preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires the ability to work in a manufacturing/industrial environment, including walking and standing for extended periods, accessing equipment and control systems, and occasionally working in confined or elevated areas as required. The position may require lifting and carrying equipment or tools, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and supporting plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and off-hours troubleshooting.
