Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for commercial, residential, industrial, and specialty building projects. The ideal candidate will have strong building electrical design experience and be comfortable working with architects, contractors, and project teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
Prepare load calculations, panel schedules, power distribution layouts, lighting plans, and one-line diagrams.
Develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and electrical plans.
Coordinate electrical designs with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Conduct site visits and provide field support when required.
Identify and resolve design and technical issues.
Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
Support projects from initial concept through construction.
Assist with improving design standards and incorporating technologies such as solar and automation systems.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Relevant experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, load calculations, panel design, and lighting systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with architects, contractors, and project teams.
Preferred QualificationsEIT or PE license is a plus.
Experience with commercial building electrical design.
Experience with solar, generators, or building automation systems.
Experience supporting projects through the construction phase.
