The Sr. Controls and Automation Engineer is responsible for the Design, Implementation, and Qualification of membrane manufacturing equipment (electrical portions). This includes component and vendor selection as well as contractor supervision. This position reports to the Project Engineering Leader and is part of the Advanced Engineering Group located in Pensacola, FL, and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Provide programming support, troubleshoot electrical systems, and select components for engineering projects. Design electrical systems and create detailed electrical documentation. Lead or collaborate with cross functional teams through concept, design, procurement, installation, and qualification phases. Manage vendor relationships for membrane manufacturing equipment and supervise contractors to ensure quality and efficiency. Support equipment installation qualification and drive continuous performance and reliability improvements.
Who you are:
Bachelors degree in engineering (electrical preferred). Control panel design and PLC Programming experience 10+ years of industrial engineering experience, including hands-on work with manufacturing floors or equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required) Ability to manage multiple projects, including both desk-based design (30%), field installation (30%) activities, and manufacturing floor activities (35%), and willingness to work in challenging environments (e.g., high heat, under equipment)
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Ability to travel - 10%, in supporting other Cytiva manufacturing sites, as well as factory acceptance tests Must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Familiarity with classified electrical hazardous locations (Class 1, Division 1 & 2), including standards for electrical components used in those environments.
