Support critical automation and process control systems Lead controls upgrades and capital improvement projects About Our Client My client is a global manufacturer of highly engineered materials serving critical industrial markets worldwide. Job Description Support and promote a strong safety culture across the facility. Troubleshoot process, automation, and equipment-related issues impacting production. Read, maintain, and update P&IDs, I/O drawings, and control system documentation. Manage and maintain process control systems, automation equipment, and industrial networks. Support upgrades and maintenance of process control computers and IT/OT infrastructure. Lead control system modifications and improvements for new and existing equipment. Manage capital projects involving DCS, QCS, PLC, HMI, and automation systems. Work closely with maintenance teams to resolve controls-related downtime issues. Implement engineering standards, controls policies, and change management processes. Support quality control systems and interact with stakeholders across the mill. Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, R D, and Engineering teams to improve performance and reliability. The Successful Applicant A successful Automation and Controls Engineer should have: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering. 2+ years of process controls, automation, or controls engineering experience. Experience supporting industrial manufacturing operations. Strong interest in control systems, automation, and computer-based control platforms. Experience with project management and capital project execution. Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience working with Windows-based industrial systems. Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems. AutoCAD experience preferred. Experience with defect detection or gauging systems is a plus. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms preferred.
