Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer (PLC) to design, program, and commission custom automation equipment. Please Note This is NOT a plant maintenance or manufacturing support role or embedded electrical engineering role. The ideal candidate has experience designing PLC controls systems (Allen-Bradley PLC's) for automated assembly equipment, robotic cells, material handling systems, test equipment, and other custom industrial machinery. Responsibilities Design control systems for custom automation equipment and special-purpose machinery. Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, I/O architecture, and controls documentation.
Program and troubleshoot:
Allen-Bradley PLCs (Must), HMIs, Servo motion systems, Safety systems Develop scalable and maintainable controls architecture. Integrate robots, vision systems, motion control, and industrial networking technologies. Lead controls debug during panel checkout, machine assembly, machine runoff, FAT, installation, and startup. Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, machine builders, project managers, and customers. Participate in design reviews and technical discussions. Troubleshoot complex machine issues and implement practical solutions. Support customer startups and commissioning activities. Ensure controls systems meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements. Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related. 7+ years of experience designing controls systems for: Custom automation equipment / Factory automation systems / Assembly machinery / Special-purpose machinery Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation. Experience integrating industrial robots such as FANUC, Yaskawa, Epson, ABB,etc.
Experience with:
Studio 5000 / Logix FactoryTalk View Servo motion systems VFDs Industrial safety systems Experience developing electrical schematics using: AutoCAD Electrical EPLAN Similar electrical CAD software Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Pay:
$45.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
