We have a direct hire opening for a PLC Programmer/Electrical Controls Technician in Watsonville, CA, with a beverage company that produces sparkling ciders and other fruit juice products. In this role, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, programming, repairing, and improving the electrical control systems used throughout the bottling lines, filter department, and packaging lines. You'll work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, servo drives, motion control systems, industrial communication networks, robotics, and vision systems used to control and monitor automated manufacturing equipment. You'll also create and modify PLC programs, troubleshoot equipment failures, replace electrical components, install new equipment, perform retrofits and upgrades, and work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and keep production moving.

PLC Programmer/Electrical Controls Technician:

Program PLCs by setting up control logic, creating and modifying sequences of operation, implementing programming changes, and improving the performance and reliability of automated equipment. Use RSLogix and Studio 5000 software to troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, modify existing programs, implement equipment improvements, and resolve equipment failures. Perform programming changes and system upgrades to PLCs, operator interfaces, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other automated equipment used throughout the facility. Use FactoryTalk View software to create, modify, and troubleshoot HMI screens and ensure operators have the information needed to control equipment, monitor production processes, review system status information, and respond to alarms. Use FactoryTalk Linx, FactoryTalk Historian, and FactoryTalk Batch software to review system activity, identify communication failures, analyze process data, and troubleshoot equipment operation. Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, and Modbus systems, to ensure reliable communication between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, drives, vision systems, sensors, and other network-connected equipment. Program, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems to control motor speed, improve equipment performance, and increase production efficiency. Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC hardware, along with Siemens and Omron control systems used throughout the facility. PLC Programmer/Electrical Controls Technician:

5 years of experience working with industrial automation equipment within a manufacturing environment. Experience within bottling, beverage, canning, plastics, blow molding, extrusion, packaging, or other highly automated manufacturing environments. Experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including ControlLogix and CompactLogix hardware. Experience using RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, FactoryTalk Linx, FactoryTalk Historian, and FactoryTalk Batch software. Experience troubleshooting HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, servo systems, motion control systems, robotics equipment, and automated manufacturing equipment. Experience working with EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus, or similar industrial communication protocols. Experience reading blueprints, electrical schematics, service manuals, and wiring diagrams. Experience troubleshooting electrical control panels, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
